Overview

Joshua D. Chen is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Newark office. He is a member of the Commercial Litigation, Financial Services & Banking, Construction and Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice sections.

Joshua represents clients across a range of industries, including financial institutions, construction firms and commercial entities. He brings a practical and solutions-oriented approach to litigation, informed by his experience in both transactional and litigation matters. Prior to joining FMG, Joshua was an associate at Turnbull Law Group, where he negotiated debt settlements between individuals and creditors. He also practiced at Lowenstein Sandler LLP, where he supported the day-to-day operations of technology and pharmaceutical companies through a hybrid of litigation and transactional services.

Joshua earned recognition as a skilled communicator early in his academic career. While studying full-time in Japan, he served as Vice President of the Japan Parliamentary Debate Union and won Japan’s 2017 National Debate Competition. He is fluent in English and Chinese and speaks conversational Japanese.
